The Islamic Council of Victoria (ICV) condemns the murderous attack in Lahore which has left 69 dead and 193 injured.
The pattern that is emerging, at an alarming rate, of civilian targets in non-war zones around the globe is frightening and an unsettling concern.
The ICV is unequivocal in our stance against violence and extremism. We decry the actions of those who attack innocent civilians and resort to suicide-bombing as a form of warfare. Acts of this nature, which indiscriminately target civilians, are absolutely unacceptable; regardless of faith, every life is equal.
ICV Secretary Kuranda Seyit, said today, “These were crimes against humanity. It was a senseless act which resulted in the loss of innocent lives and our thoughts are with the families and the injured.”
