Dear Brothers, Sisters and our precious youth,
Asalamu Alaikum Waramathulahi Barakat
Eid Mubarak to you
On behalf of the ICV board and staff we would like to extend our warm greetings to you and your families as you celebrate Eid.
The holy month of Ramadan has gone by and we hope Allah (swt) will accept all our Saum, salaat, duas and good deeds and forgive us for any transgressions.
Ramadan is an opportunity to reflect on our lives and also give one a sense of peace and tranquility. The month has been a time of trial for the Muslim community right around the world. Some have lost loved ones either by natural causes or by tragedy and we pray that Allah (swt) grants jennathul firdouse to those that have left us and sabr to all their families.
Our message today as we celebrate Eid is to also remember those who are unable to enjoy this blessed day in the safety of their homes and families. Muslims have been displaced in many parts of the world, especially in the Middle East and are currently in many refugee camps or seeking refuge in nations that are not their own. Please remember them in your thoughts and prayers.
The ICV too has not been immune from issues over this period. We would like to thank the Muslim community of Victoria and our friends for rallying to the ICV. Your numerous statements of support both publicly and privately have been very heartening. We are also encouraged by the support of our member societies.
Our youth are an important component of our society and we recognise your value and contribution. We will listen to you and work with you to ensure your concerns and ideas are heard. May Allah (swt) guide you and protect you always.
We will be working with all our sisters in not only promoting the Muslim community but also breaking down misconceptions and stereotyping that exists. We acknowledge significant role they play in the Muslim Community.
We look forward to working with our member societies, the broader Muslim community, and our partners and supporters in the coming year to achieve our goals for a harmonious and inclusive society for all.
Eid Mubarak to All
