The ICV is saddened by the recent spate of suicide attacks in Turkey. The indiscriminate targeting of innocent civilians in a peaceful society such as Istanbul is abhorrent.
Equally, the targeting of religious places of worship is strictly forbidden in Islam and the ICV strongly condemns such attacks.
ICV Secretary Kuranda Seyit, said today, “It is very sad to hear of these attacks. Turkey is a very tolerant society and has many faith groups with hundreds of years of co-existence. Our condolences are with the families and loved ones.”
The ICV is concerned about all violent situations around the world and the Muslim community of Australia shares those fears and concerns for the people caught in the cross-fire of warring parties.
