Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Eid Mubarak to you and your families
It is by the grace of Allah (swt) we send out these warm greetings on behalf of the Islamic Council of Victoria to all celebrating Eid. Muslims across the world have been fasting, performing various noble acts of piety, charity and supporting the lesser fortunate. Ramadan is also a time of self-reflection and discipline and we thank Allah (swt) for giving us the opportunity to witness this holy month.
Eid is time of joy and as we make our way to Eid salat we look forward to sharing this wonderful occasion with our friends and family. Spend the day rejoicing in the bounties of Allah (swt) and his love and mercy extends to all mankind.
While we are celebrating Eid with our families and friends please spare a moment to reach out to your neighbours, those without families or friends and sometimes due to circumstances beyond their control are unable to celebrate.
We take this opportunity to ask everyone to make supplication for all our brothers and sisters in Palestine especially in Gaza who have lost loved ones or being injured due to the ongoing violence carried out against them. Their struggle is our struggle as well. May Allah (swt) keep them safe.
We also ask you to keep in your prayers our brothers and sisters in Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan, Burma and those displaced and currently living in refugee camps.
May Allah (swt) bless you all on this auspicious day.
Yours in Islam
Mohamed Mohideen, OAM, JP
