Why this campaign, right now
A global oil shock is driving up the cost of fuel, food, and energy across Australia, and Victorian Muslim families are among those most exposed. As the temporary buffers that have been masking the impact wind back, costs are expected to rise more sharply over the coming months.
Projections suggest that by January 2027, around 58,000 Victorian Muslim households could be in financial hardship, up from around 33,000 today. These are estimates, not certainties, but the direction is clear.
Meeting this moment will take all of us. This campaign is one part of a wider community response.
About this campaign
Helping Victorian Muslim families facing food insecurity. Your donation provides emergency food parcels, grocery vouchers, and access to ICV's community pantry network.
Who are we helping?
Across Victoria, thousands of Muslim families are facing food insecurity — a crisis deepened by rising living costs, housing stress, and reduced access to culturally appropriate food. Many are recent arrivals, refugees, or families who have fallen through the gaps of mainstream welfare systems.
ICV's Food Relief Campaign works directly with frontline community workers and local mosques to identify and reach those in greatest need. Every parcel we deliver is a signal to a struggling family that their community has not forgotten them.
How your donation is used
Funds raised will go primarily to procuring and distributing halal food and essential household goods to families in need through distribution partners. In some cases, funds may also support improvements to food relief infrastructure serving the Muslim community.
Support available to you
If rising costs are putting pressure on your household, there is practical support available. A lot of it is government money many families are entitled to but have not yet claimed.

At this stage we are only accepting monetary donations, which allows us to purchase food in bulk and ensure halal certification. In-kind donations may be available at select events — follow our social media for announcements.
How do I cancel a monthly donation?
You can cancel anytime via the donor portal linked in your receipt email, or by contacting us at admin@icv.org.au. There are no cancellation fees.
