Calls for Muslim community to be silent in face of injustice

Once again, Zionist propagandists are attacking a staunch pro-justice, anti-oppression activist. This time it is our own President, Adel Salman.

Those heading these smear campaigns will have you believe that the oppression of the Palestinian people is non-existent despite the fact that over 30,449 Palestinians have been killed since 7 October 2023. Prior, over 6,417 Palestinians were killed between 1 January 2008 and 6 October 2023.

These "terrorist" allegations are deeply rooted in Islamophobia, orientalism and colonialism and are discriminatory and inflammatory.

The ICV and Muslim community have total confidence in Adel Salman and stand with him firmly against this Islamophobic smear campaign. The campaign and calls for his removal by the JCCV and the Jewish community leadership are damaging to social harmony and cohesion. We call for an end to this Islamophobic smear campaign.

It is time for the media to report with full consideration of facts, context and history. It must no longer remain a mouthpiece for Zionist propaganda. The Muslim community will not be blackmailed or bullied into silence.
