Ten thousand Victorians rally to demand an end to the barbaric assault and siege of Gaza

Israel is committing war crimes against the people of Gaza before our eyes and the world does nothing.

2,670 Palestinians killed in Gaza by Israeli bombs since October 7th, over 1,000 of them children. Over 10,000 injured. More than 1,300 buildings destroyed, over 5,500 homes. 600,000 forced to flee at the threat of impending death. Thousands at risk of dying once the Gaza hospitals run out of fuel and basic supplies. Israel has completely stopped the supply of electricity, fuel, food, and medical supplies.

Protesters heard from a young Aboriginal activist who compared the struggle for indigenous justice here in Australia to the plight of Palestinians and expressed the strong solidarity of First Nations peoples with their fight against Israeli occupation and apartheid.

Many at the protest were from a Jewish background. Their feelings were best captured by the young Australian Jewish speaker who proclaimed, "Not in my name!" when referring to Israel's war crimes against the people of Gaza.

Australia must condemn Israel's actions and demand an end to this brutality!
