The ICV welcomes the commitment by Victorian Liberal Party to religious freedom
The ICV also thanks the Liberal Party for its $20m funding commitment for the Victorian City Centre (VCC) Islamic Health Centre for Muslim Community. Mr Guy also committed to progressing the Equal Opportunity Act (EOA) to allow the ICV's upcoming state and city council elections and the religious organisations elections to be consistent with secular provisions of the law.
The Leader of the Victorian Opposition, the Hon. Matt Ryan MP, joined them, and his colleagues the Hon. Roma Britnell MP and the Hon. Nick McGowan MLC for a briefing at the ICV's Jeffcott Street facility.
The ICV acknowledges the $20m commitment from Mr Guy and the Liberal Party for a central Islamic Health Centre facility. We commend this commitment from Mr Guy and the Liberal Party and welcome similar discussions with the Victorian Government.
