Muslim Connect Program
Pre & Post Release Rehabilitation
Muslim Connect is the ICV’s community reintegration program, supporting Muslim men and women leaving prison to reconnect with family, community and faith while addressing immediate needs such as housing, health and employment.
The program supports hundreds of community members each year, ensuring participants can access both government and community support in a way that is culturally safe and responsive to their needs.
How the program helps
Support is tailored to each participant and can include temporary housing, financial assistance, mentoring and advocacy — practical steps that help people move from uncertainty towards stability, belonging and hope. Many participants are supported into stable housing, employment or training.
The program’s support often begins during a person’s sentence and continues as they re-establish their lives in the community. Muslim Connect works hand in hand with the ICV’s Prison & Youth Chaplaincy, which provides religious and pastoral care to Muslims in custody.
